What was the highlight of SBH Hotel Royal Mónica
It is very good place for the money.
Hotel Royal Monica is the only one with its own beach and umbrellas in the whole Playa Blanca. It is a small one that can accommodate about 80 to 100 people. Rest can enjoy the pool area. All other hotels have access to public beaches. Very nice ocean views. Nightly entertainment varied from simple bingo games, and karaoke nights to Rock Music duets, amazing acrobatic shows, and folk dancing.
Ocean water never gets warm enough to enjoy it fully. Only brave once did go in. The same was true with the water temperature in the pool. The Bar staff was not super friendly. It is possible that there was language barrier. I saw French speakers getting along pretty well. All-inclusive bar shots down at 11 pm. No refrigerators in the rooms. Bottom-of-the-shelf liqueur was served.

While the hotel is a little away from the centre, near the lighthouse it was a great way to get my steps in. The most beautiful view. It was exactly what I needed.
